Holiday Payout Notice

While you're busy celebrating the holiday season this December, our accounting department will be catching up on some year-end affairs.... moreWhile you're busy celebrating the holiday season this December, our accounting department will be catching up on some year-end affairs.

This means that we’re changing the cut off time for all payouts to December 18, 2009 at 12 p.m. (Noon) MST. We will pay all of these payout requests on Monday December 21st, but will not have another cut off time until December 31, 2009 at 12 p.m. (Noon MST) All payout requests made between December 18th and December 31st will be paid out the following week according to our regular payout schedule.

Read the complete payout schedule for December 2009 and all of 2010 (PDF).

******Payout requests made before the deadline will be fulfilled before the 24th.******

In the lobby of the Richmond Hotel located in the European Beyoglu district of Istanbul, there are more iStockers than hotel guests, it seems. Unlike any previous iStockalypse, where iStockphoto sets up a few days worth of creative shoots to acquire fresh and topical stock for our collection, we're entering new territory. Istanbul is the first iStockalypse where iStock photograpers will learn techniques, tips and insight about photojournalism from those we think know it best: some Getty Images greats. Our Getty Images guest speaker list includes:
– Aidan Sullivan, VP Assignments, Getty Images
– Andreas Gebhard, Manager, Picture Desk, Americas Getty Images
– Tom Stoddart, Photographer

There were tons of great suggestions and the whole discussion really helped us with the final decisions.

We are now ready for your logo uploads.
All you have to do is apply:
1. Read the Logo Training Manual. It covers everything you need to know – file formats, quality standards, categories, use of typefaces and legal requirements. Read it here.
2. Take the quiz and upload your sample images. Once approved you can get to work uploading. Please direct any questions to the Logos forum.
3. If you are an Exclusive iStock illustrator, you are already approved. (You should still read the manual though.)

Now when you login or sign up for a new account, you'll get a login box in an SSL-enabled secure pop-up iframe (technically it's an iframe, not a pop-up) which won't navigate you away from your current page. You will be able to use either your member name or email address to login. less

That's exactly what we did at Photoshop World a few days ago. Guests quickly flocked to the iStockphoto booth to receive their scavenger hunt cards. Racing around like children on an Easter egg hunt, our guests collected the stickers required to get a Munny™ doll — and then the fun began. Crafting tables teeming with decorations lay waiting for successful scavengers to start decorating their dolls.


We gave out more than 500 dolls for free and supplied all the fixins a designer could think of to make Munny decorating history. Some spent up to eight hours decorating at the booth! We had everything from green bumpy aliens, Elvis look-a-likes, Vegas strippers to Stormtroopers. One attendee even built a UFO (complete with lights and iStock logos) around her Munny doll. less
